My name is Befekir Kebede. I am a multimedia graduate specialising in web-design, documentary film-making and photography. Currently, I am undertaking a postgraduate study in journalism.
I left my native Ethiopia in 1997 for Australia to reside in Melbourne. One of the many advantages of living in Australia has been to learn about what people know and don't know about Ethiopia. According to my experiences, people are used to hearing problems about Ethiopia. And that is because of the way Ethiopia is portrayed in the western media.
Many are led to believe that Ethiopia is nothing more than a deserted land in Africa where people starve and die.
As someone who was born and raised in Ethiopia, I know Ethiopia has many unique aspects that people anywhere in the world would like to know about.
