| Thousands of Melburnians have converged on the Immigration Museum on Sunday, 18 April 2010 to attend an Ethiopian cultural festival organised by the museum. The first festival event held specifically to showcase Ethiopian culture in Melbourne’s Central Business District, the festival featured Ethiopian traditional and contemporary music, traditional dancing, various foods and a coffee ceremony, fashion and circus shows, chanting routine by an Ethiopian Orthodox Church choir, film screenings, photo and cultural artefacts shows, and much more. The festival was broadcast live for its first two hours on a radio show of Australia’s National Broadcaster – the ABC. | |
