
Tirunesh Dibaba makes history, along with three other Ethiopian

, on the second last day of the Helsinki Championships. Dibaba took the gold medal in the women's 5,000m on Saturday, becoming the first ever woman to win both the 10,000 and 5,000m events in one Championships. Debaba took the 10,000m title on the opening day of the Championship in Helsinki on Monday.
Dibaba didn't just finish first; she also set a new championships record of 14 minutes 38.59 seconds. While she raced to a historic double victory, she was also followed by three of her compatriots staging a sensational show of talents. Meseret Defar and Dibaba's sister Ejegayehu finished second and third respectively while Meselech Melkamu took the fourth place.
The four Ethiopians finished first, second, third and fourth making Ethiopia the second country ever to have done so after the United States . The Americans took the record only last week in the men's 200m.
