Fatuma Roba ends German Uta Pippig's three-year reign as the women's champion with her breathtaking performance winning the gold medal. It was Roba's first Boston and the first time an African woman won the race. Her time is 2:26:23. Fatuma then bested her own record in the two subsequent Boston marathons to become the second women in the world to win three consecutive marathon tiles. |
